Medication Pick Up in Health Room
Does your student currently have medication in the health room?
If your student has medication in the health room, those medications will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian during school hours by 12:00 pm on June 18, 2026. Please contact the school nurse (christina_toler@hcpss.org) if you need to make different arrangements for medication pick up.
**Any medication not picked up by 12:00 pm on June 18th will be discarded per HCPSS policy.
Medication Requirements for the upcoming 2026-2027 School Year:
If your child requires medication for the upcoming school year, a physician must complete the attached forms. Please note that the authorization must be dated July 1, 2026, or later. This policy applies to all prescriptions as well as over-the-counter medications (Motrin, Tylenol, Midol, Zyrtec).
Medication order forms for each new school year must be dated on or after July 1. All medications must be in containers properly labeled with the following information:
- Student name
- Medication name
- Dosage to be given
- Time and frequency of medication
- Date of medication order
- Prescriber's name
- Expiration date of medication
Over-the-counter medications such as cold, allergy, menstrual cramp, and headache medications should be brought to the health room in new, unopened containers.
