As previously announced, beginning in quarter 4, our school will pilot a new Chromebook model in which student devices will be housed in classrooms in secured carts for use during instructional time.
Call to Action for Parents/Guardians-
- By Friday, March 27th, fill out the Technology Device/Chromebook Home Use Questionnaire to specify your wish for your student(s) to continue to have a device assigned for home use.
- If you have more than one student at our school, please fill out one form for each student.
Under this pilot, if your student is a Multilingual Learner (ML) who is eligible for English Language Development instruction, or has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan that requires technology, the school will assume that they will keep their currently assigned Chromebook for home use unless otherwise specified in the form.
Teachers will still be able to assign work to be completed outside of class time, which at times may require technology access. However, they will remain mindful of students’ access to technology at home. When assignments require technology, the minimum requirements are:
- Computer or laptop
- Modern web browser
