The PTA is excited to share that we have two upcoming events for HMS students!
On Friday, March 20 (note: school is closed this day), the PTA is hosting a private Skate Night at Laurel Roller Skating Center! This is a chaperoned drop-off event just for HMS students from 5-7 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets include admission and skate rental. Students may bring their own skates (but the ticket price stays the same). Skate mates will be available for $5. Food and drinks can be purchased from the snack bar.

On April 15, the PTA will host a Spirit Night at Main Event in Columbia Mall from 5-8 PM. Our organization will earn 20% on the sales of activities, video games, food, gift cards, and non-alcoholic beverages. This event is open to all community members! A PTA representative will be at the door collecting receipts. More details to follow.
PTA General Meeting March 26th
The next HMS General PTA meeting will take place at 7 pm on Thursday, March 26th. The agenda is loaded with lots of great topics. We look forward to having HMS Parents and Staff join us in person (in the HMS Media Center) or remotely (https://meet.google.com/ffp-xcdf-dvt)
PTACHC Primary Forum March 14th
PTACHC will host a primary election forum for all Howard County candidates March 14th 2026, 11AM-1PM At Wilde Lake HS Auditorium
Hershey Park PTA Fundraiser
Consider supporting the HMS PTA by buying deeply discounted Hershey Park Tickets! 1-day Tickets are $55 each and valid any day during the 2026 season (Ages 3+). Regular price is $89.95, i.e. 39% discount!

Orders close EOD March 23 and tickets will be distributed via email before the season opens on 3 April, 2026.
8th Grade Celebration Fundraiser:
The 8th graders are selling Papa John’s gift cards until Wednesday, 3/18. The cards are $15 and are good for a free carryout pizza for every pizza ordered! For example, if you order 5 pizzas you get 5 free! It will pay for itself after just one use and helps the 8th here raise money for their end of year celebration!
Reach out to an 8th grader because there is a contest or email johnna_seifert@jcpss.org to get yours! Cards will be distributed by the 8th grade parents after 3/25 pickup.
Hammond Middle School's Heart & Sole Team Registration still open!
Registration is open until March 15th. Practices are held after school Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:20-4:35pm, starting March 16th. All girls at HMS, regardless of whether they participated in Girls on the Run in elementary school, are welcome on the Heart & Sole team. Register at https://www.gotrcentralmd.org
