Quarter 2 report cards, originally slated to be released on Jan. 30, will be available in HCPSS Connect Synergy on Tuesday, January 31 after 4:00 p.m. Directions on how to access report cards are available online.

Current 8-11th grade students may view their teachers’ course recommendations and submit course placement requests for the 2023-2024 school year. Course requests and alternates should be submitted by January 17, 2023. Parents/guardians will be able to view course recommendations but cannot submit course requests. With the ongoing potential of wintry weather, families are encouraged to review the HCPSS Inclement Weather Asynchronous Instruction Plan. Families will be notified about the asynchronous instruction day the same as all other inclement weather notifications. Parents/guardians who work on a federal property in Maryland and/or are a member of a uniformed service can qualify HCPSS to receive federal funding by completing the Impact Aid form online by December 19. Impact Aid funding supplements the HCPSS operating budget to enhance the teaching and learning that takes place in Howard County classrooms.

Sign up for the HMS Spelling Bee which will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the HMS media center. Participants should arrive by 6:00 p.m. (Snow Date is Wednesday, January 25.) Register by Friday, December 23 using the linked Google Form. More information will be emailed to participants after registration is received.
